About Us

Lakeside Stories is an organisation for Singer/Songwriters and people who enjoy original music. It is currently run by Chris James (Wales) and Laurens Reij (The Netherlands) both of which are Singer/Songwriters themselves. There are a number of activities under the Lakeside Stories banner.

Lakeside Stories organizes a monthly singer/songwriter event in Grand Cafe ‘t Hop, in Theater Het Park in Hoorn. During thesee events 3 guest singer-songwrtier acts are presented to a live audience. Lakeside Stories also organizes singer/songwriter concerts at other locations in The Netherlands. Last year we released our 3rd compilation album Lakeside Stories III. On it you can hear 12 talented artists and 12 great tracks all on vinyl. You can get a copy of the LP including a free ditgital download by making a small donation, as little as 5 euros. See our tab Discography. Once a year Lakeside Stories organizes a singer-songwriter contest in June with some interesting prizes including a small cash prize for the winner and valuble studio time for the 3 best entries.

The Lakeside Stories concept is simple but effective. “Put something in, and get something out” We offer a stage where talented singer-songwriters can perform to a receptive audience. What do you get in return? A quality live audio recording of the performance, a video clip, radio coverage and publicity on our website and in the local media.

If you are a talented singer/songwriter, passing through Holland and looking for a stage to perform on, please send us an email via our contact address on this website or submit an enrollment. We cant promise that we can fit everyone in, but we will do our best.
